Mark & Alissa Cooprider
Bangkok, Thailand
Our family has been living and serving in Bangkok, Thailand for over ten years. Mark works as an Assistant Secondary Principal at a mission-minded international Christian school where students come from all over the world and from many different faith backgrounds.
Alissa's ministry focuses on walking alongside urban refugees--families and individuals mainly from Somalia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who have fled persecution and are trying to rebuild their lives in Thailand as they wait for resettlement to a third country. Many of these relationships have grown over a decade; we've watched teenagers grow up, some becoming young parents, and we continue to be part of their stories. Alongside friendship, we help meet practical needs-- covering school fees for children, providing food, rent, and medical support during emergencies, and supporting families and individuals through crises. Additionally Alissa partners with an iNGO called Life Raft, coordinating health education efforts for one of their programs, and other ad hoc assignments as needs arise.
